Chia Moan - Level 1
Yoga has given me invaluable tools, both practical and philosophical, to deal with life’s challenges. The principles of curiosity and consistency have been invaluable in dealing with injuries, ageing and grief. People sometimes think yoga is for the young, the fit, the beautiful, for women. I heartily welcome anyone who thinks they are too old, too stiff, too fat, too male to come along and immediately reap the benefits.
I started yoga because of an injury - and the advice of an osteopath who told me I could either continue weekly treatments or go to an Iyengar teacher and get over it. I have been practicing Iyengar yoga since 1990 when I took that advice.
In Sydney I began teacher training with Pixie Lillas in 2002 and achieved my 2nd leve certificate in 2005, attended the Institute in Pune and have since had the benefit of doing workshops with senior teachers from Australia and around the world. I have taught at schools in Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
